Interior designer Kris Turnbull like to let his imagination run riot at home in Holywood, County Down. Build in 1869, this magnificent end-of-terrace Victorian property is rich in historical charm. Over the years, Kris has meticulously renovated the house, transforming it into a four-bedroom sanctuary.

We loved the house immediately, though it was a very different house at start. We completely renovated from top to bottom - optimising layout for improved functionality, converting from a six bedroom to a four bedroom with new heating systems and plumbing requirements for modern day life. For Kris, the home is much more than just a place to live; it’s a personal visual diary of our lives. The interior style is an eclectic mix of period and contemporary influences accented by personal finds from their travels. With a great passion and wonderful career working with fabrics & textiles, colour doesn’t scare Kris. The home is about reflecting personality and your journey in life - illustrating the art of blending various styles, textures, and periods to create a unique, personalised interior scheme.

"This place is all about fantasy, I love art, and the house has a lot of real treasures in different forms and interest". Collaborating with his network of trusted suppliers, manufactures and artisans, Kris mixed specialist furniture pieces with antiques they’ve picked up along the way. "Personally, art doesn’t have to match and can be the direct opposite, creating contrast. Not only should colour, but size and scale, and mixing old and new to be considered. I would dress and balance mid-century modern designs with traditional pieces within the same room".
